з.ы. Версию для ленивых смотрите в конце.

June 3, 2009 -

(4:32:32 PM): And that's it. All finished. Finitio.

(4:32:16 PM): It's a DDR game with 150 downloable songs through XBL and the PSN. The game will feature a new Octomat for eight-way dancing.

(4:30:09 PM): We are now seeing Shattered Memories for the first time on PSP. The PSP and PS2 versions are similar to the Wii game, but no motion controls. Looks very, very similar. One more surprise...........

(4:29:25 PM): These little creatures do not like light. A flare makes them recoil. Use these to catch your breath.

(4:28:38 PM): You are constantly being pursued by monsters -- not zombies. They are small and featureless, but still humanoid. They work together to surround and flank you. Their goal is to stop you from finding your daughter. They are not into violent death, though. Instead, they pile on top of you and try to smother you to death.

(4:26:58 PM): Silent Hill relies on both surprise and suspence. According to Konami, none of them are canned or scripted. They cannot be anticipated.

(4:25:54 PM): The game monitors your behaviors and decisions and will subtly adjust the game around them to make no two plays the same.

(4:25:17 PM): No load screens in Shattered Memories. Puzzles are built around physical interaction. A cellphone now replaces HUD elements. There are phone numbers in the environment you can call to learn more about the story. The phone is controlled with the Wii remote, held just like a phone. The cellphone camera is used to snap photos, which also can reveal clues.

(4:22:52 PM): Silent Hill: Shattered Memores for the Wii is about primal terror. The feeling of being alone and not knowing where you are. This game goes back to the beginning of the series. Harry Mason is back, looking for his daughter in the town of Silent Hill.

(4:20:04 PM): Deca Sports 2 is for Wii, by the way... and speaking of Wii, we're getting a peek at Silent Hill on the Wii. This looks good and creepy. Actually, this is an effective trailer. The use of the flashlight seems very cool.

(4:17:32 PM): Deca Sports has 10 events, like synchronized swimming ("hey you, I know you!"), skiing, and dodge ball.

http://media.ign.com/games/image/article/990/990878/e3-2009-konami-press-conference-live-blog-20090603053409877-000.jpg(4:16:33 PM): Ladies and gentlemen... Deca Sports 2! Wait, come back!

(4:16:10 PM): Game has a versus mode for 4 players to race through course. Players can tweak other players' wires to bounce them backward and cause general mischief. This game is set for release this fall.

(4:15:08 PM): You manipulate the world by pulling wires like slingshots and rotating cranks. Also, there are dinosaurs.

(4:13:07 PM): New game trailer comes up: Wireway for DS. You pull threads to send a little hero careening through 48 different stages. Looks cute and stylized. The goal is to collect stars and defeat and alien crime boss... naturally.

(4:10:21 PM): BTW -- You do not need the balance board to play the new Wii DDR. Although, considering how Wii Fit in the number one game EVERY MONTH, chances are good you have one. Or you know somebody that bought one and now has it in their garage. Because everybody loves a videogame that calls them fat!

(4:09:44 PM): He's gonna show us how the Balance Board works with DDR. You lean with the arrows. You do not step off the board. There is much hip-swiveling. The Wii Remote and nunchuck are incorporated, too. While wiggling and leaning, you punch along with scrolling icons. It looks like a serious workout. (After last night's dinner, this is a necessity.)

(4:07:34 PM): Seriousy, the DDR producer is awesome. I have to find him at the booth this week and meet him. I cannot stop smiling.

(4:06:37 PM): Looks like DDR for Wii might use your Mii heads on dancers. Wii DDR also uses the Wii Balance Board.

(4:05:45 PM): There are over 60 tracks in this new DDR for the PS2. We are now moving on to DDR for the Wii.

(4:05:05 PM): DDR music artists include: Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, Earth Wind and Fire... and a bunch more that flew by way too fast.

(4:03:00 PM): Gonna keep going with music games. Next is Dance Dance Revolution. CAN U DIG IT?!?

(4:02:15 PM): Vision Camera and EyeToy compatible. Weekly downloads.

(4:01:36 PM): KR is set for release on the 360, PS3, and the Wii. Konami says they have improved the singing interface. The game features over 50 songs and music videos. New and old artists. A brand new character creator with facial manipulation, body shaping, and clothing sets. There are many venues, but you can also build your own.

(3:59:47 PM): Hey, why not lead from Saw into Karaoke Revolution. Need better sequeways, Konami.

(3:59:05 PM): The game looks dark, grim, and exceedingly bloody. By design, of course.

(3:58:40 PM): Jigsaw's apprentices are helping him out with leading trapped players into misery. They are noted by their severed pig head masks.

(3:57:22 PM): Jon Willamson, the producer of the game is now on stage is talk about Saw the game. We're going to see some of the traps from the game, such as the reverse bear trap, which rips a head clean apart. You must look for clues in the environment for info that will lead to survival. Some clues are out in the open. Others are cleverly hidden, such as multiple bloodstains that form an image when viewed from the right angle.

(3:51:40 PM): According to Tobin Bell, he believes the videogame captures the "texture" of the movies. What textures would that be? Ripped flesh? Scattered sinew? Clotting blood?

(3:50:23 PM): Hey now! Jigsaw from Saw is on-stage. Well, the actor, that is. I dunno if he is doing this on purpose, but he is really laying down the serious creep with a growly voiced explanation of his involvement with the game.

(3:47:43 PM): Kojima thanks the audience and steps off the stage to more clapping. He is replaced by a trailer for Saw.

http://media.ign.com/games/image/article/990/990878/e3-2009-konami-press-conference-live-blog-20090603053236427-000.jpg

(3:45:49 PM): Castlevania: Lords of Shadows will be on both PS3 and 360 in 2010.

(3:43:55 PM): Kojima says they looked at a global audience when deciding to go in a new direction for Castlevania. Apparently Konami believes the world demands bloodthirsty action with men that wield crucifix-whips. Cruciwhips?

(3:41:44 PM): The story is of a hero looking for "revenge and retribution." The game is being developed by a studio called Mercurysteam, but they are working with Kojima Productions.

(3:41:29 PM): There was a heavy God of War-like vibe from that teaser. Lots of hard action. Kojima even notes that this is a new start. Dave Cox, producer, comes on stage and calls this a reimagining. It is not connected to any of the other games.

(3:40:22 PM): Stars a character called Gabriel. The mask can bring the dead back to life. It will heavily factor into the game. And it will come out in 2010.

(3:39:40 PM): Castlevania: Lords of Shadows, folks.

(3:39:25 PM): This trailer is heavy on fantasy-medieval action. Giant monsters like ogres and spiders.

(3:38:36 PM): Jason Isaacs is listed as a cast member.

(3:37:50 PM): Sounds like Patrick Stewart is narrating. Make it so, Kojima!

(3:37:12 PM): The fourth title is about to roll... Kojima is referencing the mask that was on the site. R U READY?

(3:36:45 PM): Kojima was careful to point out that this is for next-gen consoles. There's an S there. This is definitely for 360, PC, and PS3. No doubt about it. No exclusivity here.

(3:34:59 PM): Here comes the third of the four games... Metal Gear Solid Rising. Raiden is back. And lightning bolt action is included for free.

(3:33:00 PM): The main character is Naked Snake. It is set after MGS3. It should be considered a true sequel. Hope you still have an appetitie for eating snakes. Kojima says he is doing all of the the writing himself. The MGS4 team is heavily involved.

(3:31:41 PM): Looks like two people can get under cardboard boxes in Peace Walker. SAUCY!

(3:30:48 PM): Big men. Big guns. Big robot airship-like things. Dudes hiding under boxes. That's what you can expect from Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker.

(3:29:18 PM): Lights went down for a brand new trailer for the second game. Looks decidedly grim with lots of nuclear war imagery. Viet Nam bombing runs. We're hearing some Cold War intrigue, too. And now we're hearing about the rise of Outer Heaven in Costa Rica in 1974.

(3:26:51 PM): Oops, that was no trailer. Nevermind.

(3:26:34 PM): The cabinet has special 3D goggles. (Bring handiwipes.) Kojima says it will release in Japan this year. Stay those quarters, folks. Here comes a trailer for the arcade game.

(3:24:17 PM): Aki Saito is on stage to help translate for Kojima. Metal Gear Solid Arcade. It is officially called Metal Gear Arcade. It is built on the PS3 MGS online game. It will feature a special interface and is networked so players can compete from different arcades.

(3:23:56 PM): Hideo Kojima just took the stage. To rapturous appluse, of course. And now he's here to brush away your economic worries and swine flu fears with a fun announcement. He is going to present 4 new titles today!

(3:22:05 PM): Konami is touting its wide reach: card games, mobile, console, arcade, online...

(3:20:56 PM): MGS4 is now a Greatest Hits title. Street on June 16.

http://media.ign.com/games/image/article/990/990878/e3-2009-konami-press-conference-live-blog-20090603053626404-000.jpg(3:20:38 PM): On stage is the Exec VP of Konami, who wants to introduce today's VIPs. I wish they would put these names on-screen so we could catch them... The VP promises we will not leave today's presser disappointed. He's also touting Konami's successful 2008, thanks in large part to MGS4.

(3:17:47 PM): Mixed with a little Silent Hill spookiness. And now saw Saw. And Karaoke Revolution, too. Pop 'n Music just appeared on the roll. For fans of that game...

(3:16:58 PM): This is a packed house. Everybody was just adminished to silence everything. And here comes a Metal Gear montage to kick things off...

(3:11:00 PM): There's still nothing happening. People are filing in. To amuse ourselves, we will upload pictures of Keyboard Cat.

(3:07:00 PM): Registration for the conference is a madhouse. People are still massed outside the theater trying to get in. It's a shame we're going to have to destroy them.

(3:05:00 PM): Things aren't starting up quite yet. Our patience wears thin. Burning with anticipation now. Or maybe that's something I picked up off a toilet seat.

(2:55:00 PM): Just five minutes now until the Konami conference starts. We can feel the vibratory anticipation in our very bones. Either that, or we are sleep deprived.

(2:39:00 PM): The Konami press conference begins in about 20 minutes, and we're on the scene. We'll have another update when things start moving.
