В качестве вокалиста группа пригласила Марка Вэйкфилда, но тот вскоре покинул группу, не сумевшую найти себе студию и рекорд-лэйбл. Новым вокалистом стал аризонец Честер Беннингтон, давший музыкантам прослушать запись своих вокальных партий по телефону. Честер же придумал группе новое название, происходящее от Lincoln Park (парк им. Линкольна) в городе Санта-Моника. Музыка Linkin Park уникальна. В отличие от большинства групп, они не копируют то что делают другие, чтобы получить легкий путь к славе. Вместо этого Linkin Park создали звук полностью оригинальный и новый. Музыкантам пришлось искать ему замену. Прежде чем был найден Райан Викдэйл, в группе сменилось шесть барабанщиков. Группа выпустила шесть номерных альбомов и несколько синглов...За время своего существования группа очень многого добилась.
